The summer came and went
an idea proposed by a fellow gent.
Riding his tractor, he leveled the ground
mission — dig up the fallow ground
rows meticulously formed
seed lovingly planted
surely performed
daily watering, tended to
the tractor guy knew just what to do
sweet yellow corn
soon to be born
and so it was ...
a delicious crop
was not a flop
provided daily
a side dish of corn
with butter atop

This poem is dedicated to our friend Danny who diligently planted, and tended to our corn field. ”As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience. Luke 8:15
